Children’s Classes

This summer I am launching childrens art classes with a series of 3 classes learning the styles of some of the great artists. I hope to be adding more classes in the future, both art and craft based, please read to the bottom of the page for more info!

Who are the classes for?

Any child who has a keen interest in art and would like to take it beyond the ‘arts and crafts’ stage. Ages 9 to 15.

What will the classes cover?

Each class will look at a different artist and their signature style. There will be a short introduction to the artist and where and when they worked before the practical painting begins! Rather than just copy one of the artist’s original paintings the children are encouraged to pick a photograph from a selection provided and use the artist’s style to create their own original work of art.

What are the times/dates/costs/location?

Each class lasts 2hrs. I am still finalising the dates and times but the classes will be one per week, starting the week of July 7th. Classes will be held at the Port Williams community centre.

Fees are $25 per class, or $70 if you book all 3 as a block. Fees can be paid in full up front, or a deposit can be paid ($15 per class, $40 for the block) with the rest due at the start of the first class. Spaces are limited. All materials are supplied.

If you’d like to book a place, please contact me by email – art@isobelhamilton.com. I will notify you as soon as the dates and times are confirmed. Deposits can be paid by e-transfer.

Upcoming classes: I plan to offer more classes in the future, both art and craft based, and will also be offering evening classes for adults. If you’re interested in finding out more, or being told when these are available, please email me at art@isobelhamilton.com and I’ll add you to the mailing list.

A bit about me

If you’re coming to this page from another website, or Facebook, you might not know about me as an artist. My name is Isobel and I’m originally from Stirling in Scotland; I emigrated to Nova Scotia in 2013 with my husband and now live on the North Mountain. I’m a professional artist working in acrylic, oil and occasionally watercolour and have exhibited and sold my work at the Argyle Fine Art gallery in Halifax and the Lunenburg Art Society gallery in Lunenburg. I am a members of the LAS. If you’d like to see some of my own work please have a browse around the site using the menu at the top of the page, or you can view my Instagram feed by clicking below.
