These pieces were painted for 2 separate groups shows at Argyle Fine Art in Halifax; one in late 2018 and one in early 2019. They are all painted in acrylic on cradled birch wood panels. They are my first series using chiaroscuro, making use of strong light and dark and the play between them. My goal was to create a series of paintings that had a warm, timeless feel to them; the sort of image, object or view that might catch your eye and hold your gaze for a moment, contemplating it.
